Job summary

Baptist Convalescent Center, Inc. seeks a LPN Staff Development Coordinator to lead QAPI initiatives, teach NATCEP, and oversee MOI/CPR trainings. The role collaborates with the administrator, DON and HR to ensure nursing staff compliance and education across the facility.

The candidate will analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, and coach staff to deliver high-quality resident care in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active KY RN or LPN license.
• Must possess MOI training certificate for NATCEP.
• Best Friends Certified Master Trainer credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive direction from leadership on QAPI objectives and lead related projects.
• Identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis and observation.
• Collaborate with quality committee and senior leaders to prioritize QAPI efforts.
• Lead PIPs and provide education to build coaching skills in others.
• Teach NATCEP course curriculum and manage related documentation.
• Maintain credentialing to teach MOI, CPR, NATCEP, Best Friends dementia care, etc.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in compliance, monitoring and staff education.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Possesses a current, active license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Kentucky. Must possess a certificate of completion for the Methods of Instruction (MOI) training required in the state of Kentucky to teach the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP). Best Friends Certified Master Trainer.

QAPI ROLE

• Receive direction from the Nursing Home Administrator on overall QAPI objectives for the organization.
• Be knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis methodology and performance improvement methods needed to support and lead performance improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities for improvement through analysis of data, observation of operations and consultation with leadership and staff.
• Collaborate with the quality committee and senior leaders to prioritize and develop QAPI efforts.
• Lead performance improvement projects and provide education and coaching in order to build needed skills in others to lead PIPs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary QAPI activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Consistently model and demonstrate excellence in customer service, with a constant focus on person-centered care/services delivery.
• Ensures adherence to the mission and philosophy of the organization and that the rights of residents entrusted to the organization are respected.
• Reports any allegations of abuse, exploitation, neglect or misappropriation of resident property per facility policy.
• Teaches the NATCEP course curriculum, as required, to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Maintains all required records related to the NATCEP course.
• Prepares and submits all required documentation for the NATCEP testing and certification process.
• Teaches CPR certification/re certification course.
• Maintains all applicable credentialing to remain in good standing to teach MOI, CPR, NATCEP, Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care, state paid feeding assistance program, etc.
• As a licensed professional, it is expected that this person shall assist the Director of Nursing and/or the Assistant Director of Nursing in issues relating to compliance, monitoring and education of all nursing staff tasks and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed by the HR Director or designee.
