Job summary

Watson Clinic LLP in Lakeland, FL is seeking an LPN or Medical Assistant to provide basic medical care, assist providers, and support patient comfort in an OB/GYN setting.

The ideal candidate will have an active Florida LPN license or MA program completion, CPR/BLS, and 1–2 years OB/GYN experience. High school diploma or MA program completion with 1 year relevant work experience is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing with an active Florida license.
• 1 year OB/GYN experience required; 2 years preferred.
• CPR certification/BLS required or to be obtained within first 90 days of employment.

Provide basic medical and nursing care. Ensure the comfort of patients, discuss health care with patients, and report status of patients to registered nurses and providers.

Essential Functions

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Applies principles of fetal growth and development in his/her daily practice
• Set up rooms and trays for scheduled procedures.
• Assist provider with clinic procedures.
• Administer medications and/or vaccines as needed.
• Identifies and evaluates the patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to OB/GYN emergencies.
• Adheres to Nursing policy and procedures when documenting information in the patient’s medical record
• Is an active member of the care team and may include additional duties related to care coordination.

Requirements

LPN Specialist requirements are

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license. One (1) year prior experience in OB/GYN required, two (2) years experience preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

CPR certification.

Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements Are

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
