Essential Functions

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information in patient’s medical record.
• Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Position requires a great deal of walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies.
• It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day. Lifting up to 30 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided and must be able to push/pull a patient sitting in a wheelchair.
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside from the Care Team station to the exam rooms to interact with patients and stock supplies.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as nebulizer, fax machine, copier and computer printer. Able administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with Clinic staff, such as providers, patients, call center representatives, receptionists, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, specialty pharmacies, etc . Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• May be exposed to live vaccines, blood-borne pathogens, and bio-hazardous materials.
• Must be able to appropriately assist with procedures.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position other than occasional travel to corporate sites regarding employee relations issues.

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license. CPR certification within 3 months of employment
• Preferred Education And Experience Preferred two years experience in healthcare setting.
