Job summary

Good Samaritan in Missouri is seeking an LPN to provide nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting under supervision. This full-time, 12-hour day shift position includes every other weekend and holiday rotation and a sign-on bonus.

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program; current LPN license; benefits package and retirement plan available. If IV therapy/management skills are required in North Dakota, specific education is mandated.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have at least 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
• Completes required CEU and competency training annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for residents under supervision.
• Administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medications, behavior, activity, and diet.
• Contribute to assessments and participate in an interdisciplinary care team.
• Counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.
