Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support students in the school setting. The part-time schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with hourly pay ranging from $30 to $35.

You will identify and monitor students with chronic conditions, provide basic nursing care, perform health assessments, and document services per care plans. Maxim offers competitive pay, health benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVn licensure in the state of practice.
• Valid Health Certificate per facility.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year LVN/LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities, documenting services.
• Provides emergency crisis nursing care for ill or injured students and staff.
• Maintains communicable disease prevention and control through education, policy and enforcement.
• Conducts physical healthcare assessments and screenings (temperature, vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis, nutrition).
• Provides counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff on health-related attendance.
• Maintains health-related reports, monthly and emergency reports, ensuring policy compliance.
• Provides health education on growth, development, home nursing, and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities, and documents the services provided in accordance with orders and care plan.
• Provides emergency crisis nursing care for physically and/or psychologically ill and injured students and staff .
• Maintains communicable disease prevention and control through education, policy and enforcement.
• Conducts physical healthcare assessments and screenings, including temperature checks, vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis and nutritional assessments, etc.
• Provides counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff regarding health-related attendance problems.
• Maintains thorough and comprehensive health-related reports, monthly reports, and emergency reports, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provides health education for use by students, families, and school personnel on subjects such as (but not limited to) growth and development, home nursing instruction and first aid.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensures in the state in which the nurse practices in
• Current Health Certificate (per facility).
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior LVN/LPN experience preferred.
