Job description

•The weekend incentive bonus for employees is $3 per hour plus base rate, in addition to applicable shift differentials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Complete & file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and/or discharge. Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians & record on the Physician’s Order Form. Chart nurse’s notes in an informative & descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Fill out and complete accident/incident reports & submit to the Director as required. Perform routine charting duties in accordance with established policies & procedures.
  2. Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  3. Develop & maintain good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility to ensure nursing services meet residents' needs. Create a warm, personal, and positive environment. Receive/give nursing reports at shift change and make rounds with physicians as necessary.
  4. Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy care, drainage bags, blood sampling, massages, and range of motion exercises, as required.
  5. Monitor assigned personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations regarding equipment and supplies.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information. Report any incidents of unauthorized disclosure. Ensure privacy during nursing care and knock before entering residents' rooms.
  7. Provide IV & IV site care as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure OR Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
  2. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  3. Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  4. Knowledge of nursing & medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
  5. Current CPR Certification required.
  6. Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
