Job description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric LPN/RN PRN, dedicated to childcare, for our unique facility.

Sproutlings offers state-of-the-art resources where every child feels cared for, comfortable, safe, and stimulated.

Our approach includes being a referral-based Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center for medically fragile children, combined with traditional daycare and preschool services for children without special needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assume delegated management responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Support the policies and procedures of the Nursing Service.
  • Participate in committees to evaluate and improve standards of patient care.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise all nursing care in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with medical staff through meetings.
  • Prepare and/or direct shift reports and communicate student conditions to supervisors.
  • Take responsibility for individual student care when needed.
  • Use nursing care as a teaching-learning tool.
  • Evaluate student needs and nursing care through daily rounds and assessments.
  • Provide guidance and teaching to nursing personnel in the classroom.
  • Establish working relationships with physicians for medical treatments and nursing care coordination.
  • Be knowledgeable in medication use and operation of sophisticated equipment; supervise clinical needs.
  • Report oncoming shift with thorough student care reports.
  • Promote progressive nursing care approaches and participate in student health education and rehabilitation.
  • Evaluate nursing care systematically.
  • Assign duties based on student, staff, and unit needs.
  • Encourage staff development through inservice education.
  • Evaluate individual performance and promote good communication within the team.
  • Report equipment issues and complete work orders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
  • Progressive nursing practice experience.
  • Current Kentucky practical nursing licensure.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology and nursing practices.
  • Effective multitasking, communication, and independent work skills.
  • Self-motivation, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
  • Background check and drug screening required.
