Job summary

Hillcrest Country Estates Cottages in Papillion, NE seeks a Full-Time Day Nurse (RN/LPN) to lead cottage clinical care. You will provide hands-on nursing care, coordinate with the cottage team, and support care plans while maintaining independence for elders.

The role offers a 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. schedule with an every-other-weekend rotation, strong leadership opportunities, and a mission-driven, relationship-focused environment. RN or LPN license required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Nebraska or compact-state RN or LPN license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• At least one year of nursing experience in long-term care or similar settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing and clinical care to support each elder’s physical and mental wellbeing.
• Monitor elders for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete prescribed treatments and ensure medications are administered accurately, timely, and with privacy.
• Support fall prevention by investigating falls and implementing preventive measures.
• Follow skin-care standards and maintain skin integrity.
• Support admission and transition planning for new Cottage elders.
• Complete admission assessments, verify physician orders, and initiate care plans.
• Review and update life plans and plans of care as needs change.
• Document admission care-plan within established timeframes.
• Train and supervise Elder Assistants on medication administration and ADLs.
• Identify and report concerns related to nursing care practices.
• Support cottage team in following clinical policies and standards.
• Help monitor special care programs (incontinence, turning, restorative care, meals).
• Implement emergency procedures calmly and effectively.
• Role model professional standards and participate in meetings and required education.
• Assist with additional nursing and clinical responsibilities as assigned.

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and clinically strong Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team at Hillcrest Country Estates Cottages in Papillion, NE.

Hillcrest Country Estates Cottages offers a unique, home-like care environment centered on helping elders maintain as much independence, choice, and dignity as possible. As a Cottage Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care while also serving as a clinical leader for the cottage team, helping coordinate care, monitor changes in condition, and support the overall health and well-being of the elders you serve.

What You’ll Do

As a Cottage Nurse, you will provide hands-on nursing care while supporting the daily clinical operations of the cottage team.

You will:

• Provide quality nursing and clinical care to support each elder’s physical and mental wellbeing.
• Monitor elders for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete prescribed treatments and ensure medications are administered accurately, timely, and with appropriate privacy.
• Support fall prevention by investigating falls, identifying contributing factors, and helping implement preventive measures.
• Follow skin-care standards and ensure preventive measures are in place to help maintain skin integrity.
• Support admission and transition planning for new Cottage elders.
• Complete admission assessments, verify physician orders, and initiate care plans.
• Review and update individualized life plans and plans of care as needs change.
• Complete required admission care-plan documentation within established timeframes.
• Train, observe, monitor, and provide retraining as needed to Elder Assistants related to medication administration and activities of daily living.
• Identify and report concerns related to nursing care practices.
• Support cottage team members in following clinical policies, procedures, and standards.
• Help monitor special care programs, including incontinence management, turning, restorative care, and meal programs.
• Implement emergency procedures calmly and effectively.
• Role model professional behavior and high clinical standards.
• Participate in nurse meetings, community in-services, annual competencies, and required education.
• Assist with additional nursing and clinical responsibilities as assigned.
