Job summary

New Day Recovery in West Monroe, LA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a newly acquired residential facility. The LPN will administer medications, assist with admissions and discharges, document care, monitor withdrawal, and ensure a safe, clean environment for patients.

Must hold an unrestricted LA LPN license with CPR and First Aid certifications. Experience with medical detoxification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted LPN license in Louisiana.
• Requires current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Prefer working knowledge of medical detoxification for substance abuse.
• Knowledge of signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal.
• Must have strong team building and communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical demands of the position and respond to crises.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and patients.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Acts as second nurse on duty to maintain a safe milieu.
• Assist with admissions and discharge procedures and related paperwork.
• Document nursing assessments, orders, progress notes in patient charts.
• Monitor for signs of intoxication and withdrawal.
• Provide monitored evaluation and withdrawal management in Detox Unit.
• Maintain hygienic, safe work environment and documentation.
• Update and maintain Medication Administration Records.
• Perform scheduled medication administration.
• Obtain vital signs as needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff.
