Job summary

Gaudenzia seeks an experienced LPN for its Hutchinson Place Program in Philadelphia, PA. This women's residential program focuses on recovery for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health issues.

The role emphasizes supervision of medications and client support rather than bedside nursing; the program opens November 2026. Applicants with psych experience and the ability to work various shifts, including weekends, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
• Must have good standing license (LPN or RN) valid in the state in which clinical will practice.
• Must also possess current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
• Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests.
• Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
• Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
• Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
• Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
• Assist in the facilitation of special events, including, but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events.
• Implement health seminars, including, but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
• Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
• Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
• Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
• Maintain LPN license with good standing.
• Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee.
