Job summary

Osage Nation Health Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) based in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The candidate will assist Primary Residential Treatment clients to achieve optimal wellness. This role requires nursing skills and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, under state guidelines.

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, complete an accredited LPN program, and have a current Oklahoma nursing license. An emphasis on mental health experience and BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse preferred.
• Current nursing license from the State of Oklahoma required.
• Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist PRT clients in achieving optimal wellness and self-management.
• Perform duties per the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
• Administer medication and report vital signs accurately.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist Primary Residential Treatment (PRT) clients in achieving optimal levels of wellness, self‑management, and functioning capability during their assigned 12‑hour shift (7:00am–7:00pm or 7:00pm–7:00am). The LPN will offer licensure‑level appropriate nursing skills to all PRT clients. All duties will be performed under the guidance of the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited LPN program and current, unrestricted Nursing License from the State of Oklahoma
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

General Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse (preferred)
• Experience administering medication orally and by intramuscular injection; reporting and recording vital signs
• Knowledge of human body structure, function, illnesses and diseases, and ability to communicate with nurses, patients, family members, and clinic staff
• Experience in observation, recording, and reporting patient information accurately and efficiently
• ACLS/PALS certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of growth and development, providing age‑appropriate care to patients served
• Self‑motivated, high energy individual with ability to work with minimal supervision
• High level of personal integrity and ethics, maintaining confidentiality, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment
• Physical capability to walk, sit, recuringly bend, lift, kneel, push, and pull, rarely over 50 pounds
• Commitment to at least 6 continuing education units per year
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to training conferences
• Professional attitude and adherence to professional standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol testing
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (may be required to drive GSA or Nation vehicles)
