Role Overview

• PRN LPN positions primarily in Sussex County.
• New graduates welcome; hospice/homecare experience not required.
• Provide hospice care services to patients and families, including pediatric care.
• Non‑exempt position.

Responsibilities

The LPN functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide hospice services to patients and families. Utilizes the nursing process to deliver quality nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with Delaware Hospice policy. Supports the primary caregiver in the performance of physical care for the patient.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the State of Delaware (New Castle County); must maintain a Pennsylvania license as well.
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Certification in hospice nursing preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or home care.
• Must be able to bend, squat, drive for extended periods of time, lift and turn patients, and lift 30 to 60 lbs, following industry standards for safety and correct ergonomic practices.
• Employees involved in patient care may be exposed to blood, body tissue and fluids regularly and are expected to follow all health‑care industry safety guidelines indicated in our procedures manual.
