Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking an LPN to join our team and support daily patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will perform check-in assessments, administer treatments, and ensure safety and quality standards are met for every patient.

You will follow CDC guidelines, maintain PPE usage, and participate in performance improvements while contributing to a compassionate patient experience. A valid LPN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Requires LPN license and active nursing practice.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Complete check-out duties and relay instructions to patients and families.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure patient safety and infection control.
• Administer treatments and medications as ordered by the provider.
• Document all procedures and assessments in the patient record.
• Performs COVID testing daily and supports departmental performance improvements.
• Train new clinical staff as needed and support patient experience initiatives.

Job Description

• Completes check-out duties and relays instructions and care to the patient or family.
• Performs required Quality Control checklist to ensure patient safety.
• Follows CDC guidelines, infection prevention practices, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy, and follow safety regulations.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
• Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience.
• Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs, and assesses for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines.
• Administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments ordered by the provider, verifying as needed, and responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations.
• Performs diagnostic and occupational medicine testing, including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry, and completes forensic testing collections in accordance with applicable guidelines.
• Documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy.
• Trains newly hired clinical staff as needed.
• Performs COVID testing daily.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices [Required]

Education

• Technical/Vocational School [Required]
• Field of Study: Graduate of accredited nursing program [Required

Work Experience

• Previous urgent care experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
