Job summary

Camber Mental Health in Olathe, KS is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for pediatric behavioral health. The role focuses on med administration, patient assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely care.

You will participate in treatment planning and provide education, while upholding infection control and safety protocols in a residential setting. This PRN/part-time role supports compassionate trauma-focused care for children and families.

Qualifications

• One-year nursing certificate from an accredited college or technical school.
• LPN license in Kansas is required.
• 3–6 months of related experience or an equivalent education/experience.
• Candidate must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments and documentation within required timelines.
• Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs per policy.
• Administer medications, including psychotropic and PRN meds, with accurate documentation.
• Monitor infection control, respond to injuries and emergencies, provide first aid.
• Communicate with physicians, guardians, and treatment teams about patient health.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all medical interventions and orders.
• Collaborate with staff nutritionist on dietary needs and report allergies.
• Assist with treatment planning, staff training, and patient education groups.
• Support lab specimen collection and timely pharmacy coordination.
• Uphold safety and wellbeing by following all Camber/KVC procedures.

Position Summary

This role supports the overall health and safety of acute psychiatric patients through medication administration, health assessments, infection control, documentation, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and consultation with direct care staff.

Key Responsibilities

Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs per policy.

Administer medications, including psychotropic and PRN medications, and document accurately.

Monitor infection control, respond to injuries and emergencies, and provide first aid as needed.

Partner with the staff nutritionist to meet patient dietary needs and report allergies.

Required Qualifications

One-year nursing certificate from an accredited college or technical school.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas.

Three to six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least 21 years of age.

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Shift Differentials:

• Eligible for weekend differential ($2/hr), evening differential ($3/hr), and preceptor differential ($2/hr)
