Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse for on-site, full-time shifts. The role focuses on measuring vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and clear communication to ensure patient comfort and understanding during care.

The ideal candidate will monitor patient conditions, maintain safety standards, and contribute to quality improvement with a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing LPN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state LPN.
• When primary state of residency changes, compact state LPNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
• Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions.
• Provide quality care to patients and work with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care and departmental criteria to align with MU Health Care Mission and Goals.
• Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
• Perform patient care duties and procedures following department policy, established protocol and standard of care, or directed by Charge Nurse.
• May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
