Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
• One year of experience or knowledge in drug abuse treatment recommended.
• CPR, First Aid, and BLS certified.
• Knowledge of infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure.
• Experience triaging in emergency situations, assisting with medical emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients regarding medications used in the treatment setting and their side effects.
• Administer/dispense medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and DEA guidelines.
• Conduct urine drug screens as needed.
• Evaluate new intakes, quarterly, annual, AWOL, and potential impairment.
• Document nursing progress notes and maintain medical records per regulations.
• Participate in case conferences and provide professional observations.
• Order medical supplies and maintain inventory per regulations.
• Coordinate appointments with physicians and labs; remind patients of upcoming visits.
• Manage take-home medication calls and communicate changes in patient status with the team.
