Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Orthopedics. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

A sign-on bonus up to $2,000 is offered for both part-time and full-time caregivers. This role involves applying the nursing process to deliver patient care under supervision and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• LPN license in Missouri and board requirements must be met.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• BLS certification either in place or within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed practitioner and RN.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) . Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered

Experience:

• New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome

Certificates:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
