Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is seeking a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare in Hancock County Jail. You will administer medications, conduct intakes, respond to sick calls, and manage chronic care while upholding dignity and safety in a correctional setting.

This full-time shift runs 6 PM to 6 AM, one shift per week, with competitive compensation, PTO, and benefits including an employee assistance program and a 401(k) match.

Qualifikationen

• Valid LPN or RN licensure required.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to perform clinical nursing duties in a correctional setting.

Nursing Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
  • Administer medications
  • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
  • Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
  • Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
  • Performing 14-day physicals
  • Managing chronic care
  • Providing patient education on health concerns
  • Responding to medical emergencies
    • Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency.
  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non-formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs
  • Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
  • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations

Hancock County Jail

Shift Opening(s):

• 6 PM to 6 AM, one shift per week

Requirements:

• Valid LPN or RN licensure
• Valid CPR certification
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
