Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd, Minnesota seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or certified medical assistant (CMA) to join the family practice team at the Brainerd Clinic. This full scheduling role runs 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a flexible work arrangement and no weekend, holiday, or on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• LPN license with Minnesota state board of nursing on hire.
• CMA certification/registration on hire or CMA program completion and certification within one year; pass certification within two attempts.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN, physicians and providers and provide direct patient care in ambulatory care setting.
• Perform routine assessments: vital signs, patient histories, symptom observation.
• Assist with examinations and minor procedures; prepare equipment and ensure infection control.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals; support follow-up appointments and referrals.
• Conduct patient intake and prepare patients for examination or diagnostic testing.
