Job summary

Oneida Health Family Care (Camden) in Camden, NY is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time day shift. You will room patients, document vital signs and medications, assist providers, and manage patient flow with priority given to acutely ill individuals.

Requirements include NYS SED-registered LPN training and current BLS/ACLS certification. Duties span charting, referrals, and coordinating care with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nurse Program registered by the New York State Education Department.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients; documents chief complaint, vital signs, height, weight, allergies and reconciles medications.
• Assists provider with procedures and examinations, ensuring all necessary documents are signed.
• Attends to patients and visitors, reassuring and answering questions as needed.
• Follows procedures for authorized medication administration and documentation.
• Performs treatments and procedures as directed within scope and training, including administering injectable medications.
• Ensures patients are seen in an orderly and fair manner; communicates delays and waiting times to team and patients. Acutely ill patients receive priority at all times.
• Maintains medical records, ensuring all related reports, labs, and information are filed/scanned and available prior to appointment.
• Completes routine equipment checks, stocks supplies in all exam and treatment rooms, places orders from Central Supply and Pharmacy, and participates in room cleaning.
• Facilitates and executes physician orders in conjunction with patient needs and insurance requirements, scheduling exams and tests, and preparing prescriptions and instructions for allied health professionals in a timely manner.
• Coordinates and schedules referrals/surgeries and imaging tests with other specialists, ensuring appropriate follow‑up is arranged.
• Acts as receptionist when necessary, performs secretarial duties, and discusses insurance claims with companies to pre‑certify and meet pre‑authorization restrictions.
• In the event of an anaphylactic reaction or Code Blue, assists provider with resuscitation and CPR if needed, ensuring Code procedures are followed and documented.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Capability to kneel as necessary to complete job requirements.
• Proficiency in performing repeated bending motions as needed.
