UMass Memorial Health is seeking a nurse to perform delegated nursing tasks, assess patient status, administer medications, and support care plans on a day shift in Worcester. This non-exempt role offers a Monday–Friday schedule and the potential for a signing bonus upon eligibility determined during interview.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, EKGs, vaccinations, and documenting patient data while collaborating with Providers, RNs, and the care team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current Massachusetts licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

• 1. Assesses and obtain a patients basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.
• 2. Administers medications, performs treatment as ordered, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• 3. Performs venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12 lead EKGs, and administers vaccinations.
• 4. Participates i n implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions, and teaching.
• 5. Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or R N and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education:

• 1. Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
• 2. Current Massachusetts licensure required.
• 3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience/Skills:

• 1. Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
• 2. Strong interpersonal skills are required to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
• 3. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
• 4. Department‑specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
