Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time night shift position at the KY State Penitent facility. The role involves providing direct patient care under RN supervision, administering medications, and contributing to treatment plans in a security-aligned healthcare unit.

Graduate nurses with active LPN licenses and CPR certification are encouraged to apply. A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred, and ongoing training supports professional development

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum one year of clinic experience.
• Current LPN/LVN license in state of employment.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions and contributes to individualized treatment planning.
• Administers medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performs diagnostic tests.
• Counts controlled substances at shift start and follows safety procedures during codes or health emergencies.
• Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
• Attends mandatory staff meetings and training to maintain high quality patient care.
