Job summary

KidsPeace is seeking an LPN Staff Nurse in North Carolina who operates under supervision of an RN to provide client-centered nursing care. You will assist in planning and delivering care, monitor patient status, and maintain a safe environment in a pediatric setting.

Requirements include NC PN licensure, CPR/First Aid, a valid driver's license, and clearance checks. Training in Person Centered Thinking is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing and current North Carolina PN License required.
• Must attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.
• One Year Nursing Experience Preferred.
• The candidate must pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance as well as possess a valid driver\'s license.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Provide nursing care based on client needs.
• Assist with the development of plan of care.
• Observe client behavior and physical status and notify RN and/or Physician of changes in condition.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client\'s rights.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate.
• May supervise Mental Health Technicians during shift.
• Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
• Administer medications as per Physician\'s orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.
