Responsibilities

  • Accurately completes all required clinical documentation per Riverside Medical Group standards.
  • Maintains documentation for quality assurance including point of care testing, medication logs and annual wellness visits.
  • Works with providers to address care gaps with each patient.
  • Documentation is accurate, legible and completed the same day.
  • Knowledgeable in lab functions and lab proficiency testing.
  • Maintain clinical competency by adhering to Riverside Medical Group standards.
  • Updates and verifies patient records by interviewing the patient and confirming visit purpose.
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient appointments.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
  • Process prescription refill requests for approval and forwarding to pharmacies.
  • Maintain medical inventory and keep exam rooms stocked.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and undergoes preventive maintenance.
  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA and healthcare regulations.
  • Complete required competencies and education to maintain safe patient care.

Williamsburg, Virginia - Hiring Range $25.80 - $35.48/Hourly

Overview

Performs duties under the direction or supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or a registered nurse.

May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.

What you will do
  • Accurately completes all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards.
  • Maintains documentation for quality assurance to include but not limited to point of care testing, medication logs and annual wellness visits.
  • Works with providers to assure care gaps are routinely addressed with each patient.
  • Documentation is accurate, legible and completed same day.
  • Knowledgeable and skillful in lab functions and lab proficiency testing.
  • Maintains excellent clinical competency by adhering to the standard clinical expectations for Riverside Medical Group.
  • Updates, verifies, and maintains patient records by properly interviewing the patient and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patient for examination by obtaining vital signs proficiently (including manual vital signs when mechanical devices are not available).
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient appointments.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision of a physician.
  • Assists with processing prescription refill requests for approval and forwarding to pharmacies.
  • Maintains medical inventory of supplies and keep exam rooms stocked appropriately.
  • Keeps any necessary equipment in operating order and facilitates preventive maintenance when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations with scope of practice, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
  • Completes all required competencies and education to maintain skill level to provide safe patient care.
  • Provides patient education as needed and educates patients as necessary about the medications prescribed for them.
  • Demonstrates positive patient care by explaining the importance of the completion of registration and patient medical history forms and how it relates to their care at our facility.
  • Provides patient follow up with a sense of urgency regarding lab calls, patient phone calls, prescription fills and refills, referrals and appointment scheduling.
  • Answers telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, vendors, etc. by close of business.
  • Communicates lab/pathology results and schedules additional tests per provider order.
  • Ensures proper reimbursement from insurance companies by performing pre-authorization for prescription drugs, procedures, and patient tests.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
  • Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Program Graduate, Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
  • Experience: 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
