Job summary

Auburn Community Hospital is seeking a Medical-Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician. The LPN will contribute to safe, high-quality nursing care in a busy unit, supporting treatment plans, medications, and patient recovery.

Ideal candidates hold an LPN license in New York, have completed an accredited LPN program, and possess BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Hospital facility which requires working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with diagnostic tests, pre- and post-operative care, and wound care.
• Perform basic nursing procedures such as catheterizations and vital sign monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health records (EHR).
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
