Join the MercyOne Family! We are hiring a LPN/Medical Assistant at the MercyOne Ottumwa Clinic.

As a LPN/Medical Assistant at MercyOne, you will support providers by ensuring smooth patient flow, delivering a positive customer experience, and caring for clinic patients. You will also recognize urgent/emergency needs and initiate appropriate procedures.

  • Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Manage electronic medical records according to clinic procedures.
  • Assess patient and family understanding of treatment plans.
  • Assist with procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment operation.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures and medication administration.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR.
  • Report results and relevant information to patients and healthcare team members.

Schedule:

  • Full Time Days
  • M-F 7a-5p with variable day off

General Requirements:

LPN:
  • Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa
  • Clinic/physician office experience preferred
  • BLS certification within three months of hire
  • Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire
Medical Assistant:
  • Current CMA certification
  • Medication Aide certification if applicable
  • Clinic/physician office experience preferred
  • BLS certification within three months of hire
  • Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire

Education:

LPN:
  • Completion or near completion of an accredited LPN program
Medical Assistant:
  • Completion or near completion of an accredited Medical Assistance program
