Job summary

United Vein & Vascular Centers (UVVC) is seeking a Clinical Technologist Lead Nurse to oversee Clinical Technologists in the NJ market and ensure high-quality, team-based patient care across clinical and administrative functions.

You will mentor onboarding, conduct competency assessments, travel to clinics, train staff, sign off on new hires, ensure HIPAA and SOP compliance, and drive continuous quality improvement with clinical and operational leadership.

Qualifications

• Current State or Multi-State Licensure as an LPN or LVN.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience; lead experience preferred.
• Must travel to Alpharetta, Athens, Duluth and Kennesaw clinics.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
• Mastery of SOPs for infection control, sterile technique, autoclaves, supply management, medication safety and EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert and oversee CT responsibilities within scope of practice.
• Oversee onboarding, competency assessment, and ongoing training of all CTs.
• Travel to assigned clinics as requested by supervisor.
• Serve as trainer and educational resource for CTs and new hires.
• Provide oversight and final sign-off for new hire CTs.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Technologist Lead Nurse is responsible for the competency and appropriateness of services provided by Clinical Technologists within an assigned market. They will ensure Clinical Technologists perform high-quality, team-based patient care for both clinical and administrative functions. The Clinical Technologist Lead must be proficient in all the roles and responsibilities of a Clinical Technologist to be considered for this role.

• Act as the subject matter expert and oversee Clinical Technologist responsibilities and duties within the Clinical Technologist scope of practice.
• Oversight of onboarding, competency assessment, and ongoing training of all Clinical Technologists in the market.
• Travel to assigned clinics as requested by supervisor or Clinical Program Manager.
• Serve as the trainer and educational resource to Clinical Technologists including training new employees and coaching employees identified as needing additional training.
• Provide oversight and final sign-off for new hire Clinical Technologists.
• Understand and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and workflows within scope of practice and scope of responsibility.
• When not actively engaged in coaching or training, assist other staff members with their duties in the spirit of teamwork to ensure effective and efficient clinic operations.
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and collaborate with clinical and operational leadership on implementation of Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
• Complete assigned peer chart audits and submit to clinical and operational supervisor.
• Collaborate with supply chain team to ensure appropriate medication and supplies are available for clinic operations.
• Oversee inventory is completed in each assigned clinic and information sent to supply chain team by requested date.
• Assist with interviews of Clinical Technologists, as requested.
• Work in conjunction with Facility Administrator and Clinical Program Manger on Clinical Technologists feedback sessions and annual reviews.
• Drive efficient patient flow; use eCW to update patient status throughout visit, promptly rooms patients, perform patient verification process, obtain and documents vital signs, take patient photos, and turn over patient rooms.

• Proactively identify areas of risk.
• Fill in as a Clinical Technologist on a temporary and limited basis, during critical staffing shortages.
• Maintains the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current State or Multi-State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
• Minimum of two years of experience as a nurse in a patient care setting; Previous experience as a Clinical Lead strongly preferred.
• Must have the ability to travel to Alpharetta, Athens, Duluth and Kennesaw clinics.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider through American Heart Association.
• Have mastery of standard operating procedures related to: Infection control practices, sterile technique, steam sterilizers (autoclaves), supply management, medication safety and preparation, patient and team safety initiatives and documentation electronic medical record.
• Analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions.
• Expert computer skills and electronic medical records documentation.
• Ability to manage activities of the team and motivate others in a team environment.
• Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards.
