Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Bone and Joint Center in Springfield, MO. The role includes administrative duties (phones, scheduling, data entry) and clinical tasks such as vital signs, medication review, patient prep, and room/supply management.

The position supports the 1280 Plastic Surgery SGF department with patient care in a day shift, 40 hours per week. Missouri license as an LPN is required or active, with prior outpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program.
• Preferred nursing experience in outpatient or ambulatory clinic settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Missouri LPN license preferred or active license state-wide.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and data entry in medical records.
• Measuring and recording vital signs and reviewing medication lists.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist during procedures.
• Clean rooms, stock supplies, and administer medications as ordered by physician.

Job Description

The LPN performs administrative duties that include, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment and stocking supplies. This position will involve the administration of medications as ordered by the physician. Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.Education: Required: Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program Experience: Preferred: Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team. Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversite. Proficient Computer skills Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri Preferred: IV certification in State of Missouri
