CoxHealth in Springfield, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide both administrative and clinical support in the Bone and Joint Center/Orthopedics SGF department.

The role involves phone handling, scheduling, data entry, vital signs, medication administration, room preparation, and collaboration with a care team.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program (required).
• Experience: Preferred—outpatient or ambulatory clinic nursing experience.
• Licensure/Registration: Current Missouri LPN license or Graduate Practical Nurse active in Missouri; IV certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and data entry in medical records.
• Measure and record vital signs and collect demographics and medication history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, clean rooms and equipment, and stock supplies.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician and perform competencies as directed.

Job Description

The LPN performs administrative duties that include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. The position will involve the administration of medications as ordered by the physician. Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program (required).

Experience: Preferred: Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting.

Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team; Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversight; Proficient computer skills.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri. Preferred: IV certification in State of Missouri.
