HealthPartners is currently hiring for a full-time LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT working in the OBGYN department.

The required qualifications for the LPN position include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. Online BLS certification is not acceptable.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
- One year working experience as an LPN is preferred.
The required qualifications for the Medical Assistant position include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. Online BLS certification is not acceptable.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT is preferred.
The LPN position responsibilities include:
- Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
- Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.
- Assist patients in achieving basic health care goals.
- Identify patient education needs, provide instruction, and refer appropriately.
- Document observations, actions, and patient outcomes.
- Provide safe, accurate, and clinically competent direct care to patients and families.
- Recognize patient's abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate assistance.
- Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize and report variances.
- Teach techniques or provide information according to established program.
- Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each patient's record.
- Communicate information effectively to other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding procedures and care.
- Perform telephone screening under the direction of RN or MD.
- Ensure patients' rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant areas.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Serve as a role model for technical conduct and practice.
- Support professional and technical staff.
- Solve problems appropriately, seeking assistance from team members.
- Build positive relationships with patients and team members through interpersonal skills.
The Medical Assistant position responsibilities include:
- Room patients and complete vital signs and other physical measurements.
- Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy and documented procedures.
- Review charts for relevant information related to the patient's appointment.
- Provide and document health educational materials to the patient.
- Handle patient records confidentially per policy.
- Seek medical or nursing assistance when encountering acutely ill patients or changing conditions.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, assist providers as needed.
- Prepare patients for medical interventions.
- Prepare charts and records for appointments according to practices.
- Check and route MSRs appropriately.
- Prepare lab, x-ray, and other forms as requested.
- Process drug refills according to protocols.
- Monitor station logs as assigned.
- Facilitate communication flow within the clinic.
- Relay messages and test results accurately.
- Gather information from callers and relay to providers for follow-up.
- Coordinate schedule changes to meet patient and provider needs.
- Assist with patient correspondence and forms.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment per OSHA standards.
- Complete cleaning and infection control procedures.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and manage inventory.
- Maintain prescription sample supplies.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and records are kept.
The position requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, possess speech, hearing, and sight skills, manual dexterity, and proficiency in English. Some roles may require lifting and knowledge of additional languages.
