Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an RN for Med Surg 5W on the night shift (7:00PM-7:30AM) to provide comprehensive patient care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. New grads and experienced nurses are welcome, with sign-on bonuses up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new graduates.

This role offers a strong start in a busy medical-surgical unit. Qualifications include RN licensure in Missouri (or compact), BLS certification, and a BSN/ADN/Diploma pathway.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an RN license.
• RN licensure in Missouri or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.

About the Unit — Med Surg 5W

Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.OverviewUtilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. QualificationsEducation:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:Associate Degree in Nursing

Nursing Diploma

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:

Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.Certifications:Required:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience:

Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical RequirementsAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
