Job summary

UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham is seeking a Registered Nurse for the day shift (7am-7pm) to provide direct nursing care and coordinate multidisciplinary care. You will implement care plans, document orders, and assist with discharge planning in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements include an accredited nursing diploma, hold or be eligible for Alabama RN licensure, and BLS within 30 days. UAB Medicine offers generous PTO and tuition reimbursement as part of its benefits package.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders; assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
