Job summary

Citizens Health is seeking an RN, LPN, or MA to join Citizens Medical Center Specialty Clinic in Colby, Kansas. You will coordinate total nursing care, participate in patient and family teaching, and lead by working with the health care team to maintain nursing standards in a clinical setting.

The position reports to the Specialty Clinic Manager with 4–5 days per week. Licensure as RN/LPN or MA certification is required, CPR is needed within 30 days, and compensation depends on licensure and

  • Proven ability to provide direct patient care using nursing process.
  • Ability to teach patients and families.
  • Strong communication and teamwork with health care staff.
  • Current licensure by Kansas Board of Nursing for RN or LPN; MA may apply.
  • CPR certification required or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing assessment skills to evaluate patient and family needs.
  • Administer medications per protocol in a timely and safe manner.

Position Information

Citizens Health is looking for an RN, LPN or MA to work full-time at Citizens Medical Center Specialty Clinic. Under the leadership of the Department Manager and/or Nurse Supervisor, coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other health care team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Will report to the Specialty Clinic Manager.

4-5 days per week

Pay Range

Dependent upon licensure and experience.

  • Provide direct patient care to meet patientneeds using the nursing process.
  • Utilizenursing assessment skills in evaluating needs ofpatient and family.
  • Administers ordered medications, following established protocol, in a timely and safe manner.
  • Develop and evaluate individualized patientteaching for patient/family members.
  • Promote positive interpersonal relationships anddemonstrate effective communication skills tosolve problems, to carry out hospital policiesand procedures and coordinate patient care.
  • Promote own professional growth and demonstrateprofessional conduct in regard to thedepartment, professional relationships, and thepractice of nursing.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
  • Current licensure by the Kansas Board of Nursing for Rn and LPN.
  • Current C.P.R. certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Adequate knowledge of nursing theory and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standard nursing practices for care of specific cases.
  • Ability to deal understandingly and tactfully in a professional manner with patients and their families.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with personnel in other departments.
  • Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standard, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
