Job summary

Park Nicollet Health Services is seeking LPNs, Medical Assistants, and EMTs to join our Primary Care team. This role emphasizes direct patient care, teamwork, and adherence to CDC vaccine schedules and standing orders. Candidates must hold a current BLS certification and appropriate licensure or accreditation.

The team delivers well-child visits, wellness checks, and a range of in-clinic services, with a strong focus on high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required and maintained (online certs not accepted).
• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent MA/EMT training.
• MA program must be accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES; EMT must be Minnesota licensed.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Assist with procedures (e.g., EKGs, bladder scans) as directed by clinician.
• Complete rooming components: med reconciliation, refills, allergies, immunization review.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies.

Department Overview

We are a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are passionate about helping patients of all ages improve their health. Our clinic includes a large and collaborative group of clinicians across Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics. Our clinicians and nursing staff work closely together to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Our Primary Care department offers a wide range of services, including:

• Well child exams and annual physicals
• Medicare wellness visits and pre-operative exams
• General office visits, as well as video and phone visits
• In-clinic procedures
• Nurse visits and vaccine clinics

Role

In this role, Clinical Support Staff provide direct patient care and support by partnering closely with one or more clinicians. Team members are expected to work at the top of their training and certification by:

• Following standard rooming processes
• Adhering to current CDC vaccine schedules
• Utilizing pre-visit planning and standing orders

Position Summary

As a part of our team, you will be providing care for patients which may include the following duties:

• Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
• Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN or following standing orders.
• Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering, ear lavage, EKG’s, and bladder scans.
• Ensuring all the components are of the standard rooming process are completed including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.
• Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Qualifications

This role requires a BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Must Meet One Of The Following

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
• Medical Assistant (MA): Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License

Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
