Job summary

Alabama Clinical Schools in Birmingham is seeking a Weekend LPN (7a-7p) at our Bessemer location to join a patient-centered nursing team. You will coordinate care under the supervision of an RN, focus on delivering high-quality, cost-effective health services, and support our mission within the Universal Health Services network.

Qualified applicants will hold an Alabama nursing license, a CCNE-accredited nursing degree, strong communication skills, and be comfortable with computer-based records.

Qualifications

  • Current license to practice professional nursing in Alabama.
  • Nursing degree from a CCNE-accredited nursing program.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and patient care activities.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with common computer-based applications (email, word processing, databases).
  • Must have a successful drug screen and background check (criminal history, etc.).

Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama. This position is for our Bessemer location.The Registered Nurse is a key member of the Alabama Clinical Schools Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Alabama.


Nursing degree from a CCNE accredited nursing program.


Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.


Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.


Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based


Must have a successful drug screen and background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
