Job summary

PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated LPN to support a pre-K student near Lenexa, KS in a 1:1 school-based assignment. This in-person role runs 8:10am–3:10pm from October 28 to December 18, with a single caseload and bus-related duties.

Responsibilities include following RN plans to monitor for hypoglycemia, perform finger-stick glucose checks, and administer orange juice via g-tube if directed. Also monitor g-tube pumps on the bus, watch for seizures, and coordinate tasks with the school nurse.

Qualifications

• LPN license required.
• School experience recommended but not required.
• Trach experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow plans created by RN to monitor for signs of hypoglycemia.
• If signs are noted, conduct a finger stick blood glucose check.
• Treat with orange juice via g-tube if indicated in nursing plan and medical orders.
• If student has a g-tube feeding on the bus, monitor the pump for kinks, occlusions, or other issues and troubleshoot as outlined in nursing plan.
• Monitor for signs of seizure activity and follow nursing plan and medical orders for student safety and administer sublingual medication if indicated.
• Work as student’s aide on the bus and collaborate with the school nurse on tasks between bus rides.
