Job summary

Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will provide vigilant, high-level care as patients transition from the ICU and work with a dedicated critical care team to help patients recover.

You will administer medications, monitor cardiac status, assist with ADLs, and ensure accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• LPN/LVN required within job scope.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care for patients with complex needs, administering medications and assisting with ADLs.
• Monitor vitals and neurological status, alert team to changes for timely treatment.
• Maintain clear, timely patient records to support team collaboration and safety.
• Educate patients and families, offering support during serious conditions and recovery steps.
• Collaborate with RNs, doctors, and specialists to help patients stabilize and progress from ICU.
