Job summary

MercyOne in Iowa is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for a full-time day shift. The nurse will use the nursing process to assess patients, implement physician-directed care, and supervise support staff within the LPN scope of practice.

Strong leadership and patient-care skills are required to ensure high-quality, compliant care. Responsibilities include administering regimens, supervising colleagues, and collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Nursing school.
• Current LPN license in State of Iowa.
• CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers; mandatory reporter training; license renewal education.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process: assess patient status and plan care.
• Carry out physician-prescribed regimens within nursing guidelines.
• Perform and supervise tasks within LPN scope of practice.
• Provide leadership and direction in supervising nursing care.
• Continually apply nursing process for patient assessment and planning.
• Execute regimens prescribed by physicians per guidelines.
• Supervise activities within LPN scope and seek assistance as needed.
• Provide leadership in supervising others through the nursing process.

Description: JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1.Utilize nursing process which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status in relationship to above
• 2.Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice
• 3.Performs and/or supervises activities/functions which require knowledge and skill level currently ascribed to the licensed practical nurse and seeks assistance when these are beyond scope of preparation
• 4.Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of approved Nursing school
• Required Licensure and Certifications Current LPN license in State of Iowa
• Current basic Life Support for Healthcare providers from American heart Association Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training 30 days upon fire and recertification every 5 years. Obtains education requires for license renewal.
