Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, within the scope of your license. The role supports assessments and ongoing patient well‑being.

Responsibilities include administering medications, observing for adverse reactions, performing basic labs and educating patients and families about treatment plans, post discharge care, and available resources. Work location is UAB St.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire or transfer date; AHA or ARC accepted.
• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent.

  • Full Time Nights - 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Working every 3rd weekend)
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent required.
