Job Description:

Under general supervision, provide nursing care based on the nursing process, UAB Hospital Standards, and policies. Responsibilities include orienting patients and families, collecting assessment data, notifying RNs of issues, evaluating patient responses, documenting care, responding to emergencies, demonstrating interpersonal skills, meeting educational needs, and serving as a role model.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program (work experience cannot substitute education)
• Licensed or licensed by endorsement as an LPN by the Alabama Board of Nursing
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, or to be obtained within 30 days of employment
• Additional certifications like ACLS or PALS may be required depending on the department
