Base pay range

$26.00/hr - $33.00/hr

Position Summary

Support Culture and Excellence through active role with assigned neighborhood initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists in planning and evaluating nursing care.
  • Performs nursing care to Members following established policies and procedures under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse.
  • May administer medications after having been oriented to the medication procedure of the Home.
  • May assist with medical rounds.
  • Performs nursing treatments such as dressing, colostomy care, pressure ulcer care and others as assigned.
  • Renders first aid in emergency situations.
  • Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms observed in Members assigned to daily care; may record observations in the medical record after orientation to this procedure.
  • Maintains adequate fluid intake of Members who are unable to hydrate themselves.
  • Participates in the In-service Education and Safety Programs of the Home; may attend selected meetings and workshops to improve job skills and/or working relationships.
  • Provides first aid at Linden Knoll as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or by Administration from time-to-time.
  • Ensures that team conference is held each shift.
  • Accountable to ensure daily CNA documentation is complete.
  • Responsible for completion of monthly summaries as assigned.

Expectations of the Positions

  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning – start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-oriented demeanor and supports Culture and Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or Members.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).

Qualifications Of The Position

  • Education: Graduation from a school of practical nursing.
  • Experience:
  • Skills: Must be capable of lifting.
  • Licenses / Certifications: Current NYS Licensure.

Conditions Of Employment

  • Work is performed in a clean, well lit, “home-Like” nursing Home setting.
  • Employee must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).

Physical Requirements

  • Refer to Physical Requirements form.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by Friendly Home.
  • May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Members or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Members, visitors and team members during emergency situations.
