Description:

  • This LPN position will be working in the Emergency Department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, with two 12-hour shifts per week from 7am - 7:30pm, including rotating weekends and holidays.

About the job:

The LPN will provide patient care within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, supporting providers and RNs, and delivering compassionate, comprehensive care.

Responsibilities include:

Clinical:
  • Greeting and escorting patients
  • Measuring vital signs and recording patient histories
  • Providing patient education
  • Preparing patients for exams and procedures
  • Assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, lab testing, EKGs, and medication administration (excluding IV medications)
  • Maintaining a clean and organized care area
  • Adhering to federal and HIPAA regulations
Administrative:
  • Scheduling and documenting patient care activities
  • Managing medical records and referrals
  • Ensuring department readiness and supplies
  • Participating in training and continuing education

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
  • Current Ohio LPN license in good standing, IV certification preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Skills in phlebotomy, lab testing, injections, vitals, and EKG
  • Teamwork and ability to work independently within policies
  • Basic computer skills; EMR experience preferred
