Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid LPN license in the state employed.
• Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plans as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Chart nurses' notes reflecting care provided and residents' responses.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with regulations and center policy.
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with policies.
• Ensure narcotics are handled per regulations and narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
• Make daily rounds to ensure staff perform their duties per nursing standards.
• Notify attending physicians and next-of-kin when there is a change in residents' conditions or incidents.
• Attend center in-service programs as required.
• Document daily nursing evaluations in Point Click Care.
