Responsibilities
The Clinical Technologist Lead Nurse oversees the competency and quality of services provided by Clinical Technologists within an assigned market. They ensure high-quality, team-based patient care across clinical and administrative functions, demonstrating proficiency in all roles of a Clinical Technologist.
- Serve as the subject matter expert, overseeing Clinical Technologist responsibilities within scope of practice.
- Manage onboarding, competency assessments, and ongoing training for Clinical Technologists.
- Travel to clinics as needed.
- Train and coach Clinical Technologists, including onboarding new employees.
- Provide final sign-off for new hires.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Assist staff with duties to promote teamwork and clinic efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate on Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Perform peer chart audits and report findings.
- Coordinate with supply chain for medications and supplies.
- Oversee inventory management and communicate with supply chain.
- Participate in interviews and feedback sessions for Clinical Technologists.
- Support patient flow and clinic operations using electronic health records.
- Promote UVVC’s Core Values and Standards of Conduct.
- Identify risks proactively.
- Fill in as a Clinical Technologist during staffing shortages.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of PHI in accordance with HIPAA and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current State or Multi-State Licensure as an LPN or LVN.
- At least two years of nursing experience in a patient care setting; leadership experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Mastery of infection control, sterile techniques, sterilizers, supply management, medication safety, and EMR documentation.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and computer skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage team activities.
- Dependability with reliable attendance and punctuality.
- For internal candidates, in good standing with no recent disciplinary actions.
