Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a Staff LPN Ambulatory for an outpatient care setting near North Mason Road. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, including rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing labs, and supporting procedural care.

In this role you will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, IV therapy as needed, and administer medications while following HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines. No weekends, no holidays, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Missouri LPN license required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse with IV cert preferred.
• HIPAA compliance and infection control knowledge.
• Ambulatory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing services to patients under physician supervision.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and medication administration; assists with procedures and IV fluids.
• Adheres to HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medication Management and Infection Prevention protocols.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history, and maintains accurate charting.
• Triages calls, communicates test results to patients, and relays information to providers with proper terminology.
• Maintains safety as a core responsibility in daily activities.

Role Purpose

The Staff LPN Ambulatory is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider in an ambulatory care setting. Assigned tasks may include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering medications in-office, initiating/discontinuing IV fluids, performing point of care lab testing, assisting with procedures and triaging patient phone calls. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with applicable state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician or other licensed provider within the scope of practice for the LPN.


• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point of care testing and medication administration. Assists with medical office procedures and initiating/discontinuing IV fluids as directed.


• Follows HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medication Management and Infection Prevention procedures for cleaning and sterilization of equipment and/or instruments.


• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.


• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.


• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
