Job Summary and Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide direct patient care under RN supervision, collaborating on planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. They observe, monitor, and report patient symptoms and progress.

Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate performance standards, values, and patient promise.
  • Monitor, document, and report patient conditions; notify RN as needed.
  • Create detailed reports and records.
  • Collaborate on care plans based on patient responses.
  • Perform nursing tasks safely under RN supervision.
  • Reinforce patient and family education.
  • Follow safety and infection control standards.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (or ADN/BSN within specified timeframes for certain departments).
  • Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS Certification.
