Job summary

The Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI), part of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time position. The role includes direct patient care within an interdisciplinary team, with base pay plus shift differentials of $0.90/hour for second shift and $1.00/hour for third shift, and opportunities for advancement.

LPNs will apply nursing knowledge, document treatment, administer medications, and communicate with nursing staff

Qualifications

• A valid, unrestricted Iowa LPN license or licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing is required.
• Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing knowledge and skills throughout the delivery of services.
• Document client treatment and concerns, administer medications, and communicate information with supervisory and other nursing staff.
