Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing team in Columbia, SC. You will provide focused, patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse across a defined patient population.

Responsibilities include data collection, care planning, and evaluating outcomes of nursing actions, with emphasis on safety, dignity, and quality. A 36-hour work week consists of three 12-hour shifts; a $30,000 sign-on is available for experienced hires.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN in SC or a compact state is required.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC equivalent).
• One year of LPN experience preferred.

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the Under the direction of a registered nurse is responsible for all identified nursing care behaviors within his/her span of control during his/her tour of duty and is accountable to the Charge Nurse and/or designated individual. Minimum Training and Education

Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
