Albany Med is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a provider or RN. The LPN administers medications and vaccinations, observes and records clinical data, and communicates patient information to the health care team to guide planning and evaluation.

The role requires NYS LPN licensure, completion of an accredited LPN program, and the ability to work with diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Vocational School Diploma Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse academic nursing program.
• Applicable experience per department hiring guidelines.
• Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
• Able to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and others.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as the patient record, safety rules and procedure documents.
• LPN - NYS Licensure Upon Hire - required

Responsabilités

• Administers medications and vaccinations under supervision.
• Observes, measures, records, and reports clinical data.
• Supervises care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel.
• May start an IV and administer blood products with manager's guidance and training.
• Adheres to NYS Nurse Practice Act and Albany Med policies.
• Provides patient education and emotional support.
