Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled care in the Medical-Surgical Services and Adult Behavioral Medicine Unit. The role supports the registered nurse in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for adults and geriatric patients.

Requirements include Alabama LPN licensure, ACLS, and hospital nursing experience. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to policy within a per‑diem day shift.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LPN license in the State of Alabama.
• Minimum Education Preferred Completion of an undergraduate degree.
• For Medical-Surgical Services, two (2) years of hospital LPN experience; For Behavioral Medicine Unit, one (1) or more years of psychiatric nursing.
• Current ACLS certification.
• CPR.
• Annual completion of competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse in data collection to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to the medical/surgical and psychiatric patient.
• Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Documents accurate and factual information on all records.
• Responds to patient and non-patient emergencies according to Southeast Health’s policies and procedures, as well as job requirements.
• Works actively and cooperatively with co-workers as a team.
